7 day digital detox challenge

The 7-Day Reclaim Your Hour Challenge

A simple 7-day challenge for reclaiming one hour a day from short videos and using it to build something meaningful.

5 min readPeople ready to run a one-week experiment with their time.

A good challenge is short enough to start and structured enough to matter.

The 7-day Reclaim Your Hour Challenge is simple: for seven days, reclaim one hour from short-form video and use it for one thing you actually care about building.

Step 1: Choose the hour

Pick the hour you most often lose to TikTok, Reels, Shorts, or similar feeds. Do not choose an ideal hour. Choose the real danger zone.

For many people, this is the first hour after work, the last hour before bed, or the gap between study sessions.

Step 2: Choose what you are building

The challenge works best when the reclaimed hour has a positive identity. You are not just stopping. You are becoming someone who reads, writes, moves, learns, repairs, creates, or shows up.

Write the sentence: "I am reclaiming one hour a day from short videos to ____."

Step 3: Check in every day

A daily check-in makes the hour visible. It can be short: what did you do, for how long, and what is one thing you noticed?

You are building a record of output instead of another private promise.

Step 4: Review the seven hours

At the end, ask what changed. Did you read more? Move more? Sleep earlier? Make progress on something that had been waiting?

The win is not perfection. The win is learning what your time can become when it has a place to go.
